This notice applies to Robo Shield. It should be read in conjunction with the Aura Privacy Policy and it describes data processing practices in more detail or in ways that may vary from our general Privacy Policy. Where there is an inconsistency between the general Privacy Policy and this notice, this notice prevails.
Information Collection and Use
This section describes some specific categories of information that Robo Shield collects from you (both directly and during your use of Robo Shield) and from third parties, how we use that information, and with whom we share it.
Call Information
Robo Shield collects caller ID information, networking routing information (where available), the dates and times of incoming calls from both businesses and consumers, and information about incoming calls that you block. This information is provided to our scam call protection service provider to provide you with identification of businesses trying to scam you (including labeling calls as “Scam Likely” or “Nuisance Likely”), provide you with enhanced caller ID, develop alerts about possible scams or nuisance calls, to improve the functionality of Robo Shield (e.g. improving the ability to recognize scam calls and differentiate them from legitimate calls) and for anonymous aggregate statistical reporting purposes, all of which are available to all users of the scam call protection services from our provider.
Device Information
We receive information about the device you use to access Robo Shield, including IP address, web browser type, operating system version, phone carrier and manufacturer, device identifiers, mobile advertising identifiers, and push notification tokens.
Enhanced Caller ID and Call Labels
Robo Shield receives “scam likely,” “nuisance likely,” and industry labels about calls you receive from businesses, as well as enhanced caller ID information from our scam call protection service provider.
Your Address Book
If you permit Robo Shield to access the address book (contacts) on your device, it does so only to assure that any incoming call that displays a number already in your contacts is displayed properly on your device. We do not export any information from your address book outside the Robo Shield application or off your device and will not use this information for any purpose other than to provide you with the Robo Shield services. We do not transfer, sell or market the contact information from your address book.
In addition, the enhanced caller ID function will add a contact to your address book to enable more information to be displayed on your device when you get a call from companies using the enhanced caller ID service. This contact will automatically delete itself once the content has expired.
Sharing
In the U.S., if you voluntarily choose to provide complaint information about scam or nuisance calls you receive, this information will be shared with appropriate government agencies, such as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) to aid in their enforcement activities. This information will also be shared with our third-party scam call protection service provider to better understand your complaint, call block trends, and to inform scam and nuisance call identification.
To Opt-Out
If you no longer want to receive robocall protection or enhanced caller ID, just delete Robo Shield from your device.
